| Let Your Light So Shine Designed by Laurie M Forbes Machine appliquéd and hand quilted by Laurie M Forbes Finished: Jan 2009 In 1998, just before I started therapy for the childhood abuse, my bishop told me that I needed to let my light shine instead of hiding it under a bushel. At the time I did not understand what he meant, but a friend explained to me that I always hid my emotions and people thought I was hard and emotionless. To let my light shine meant that I needed to let people see that I did have emotions, and sometimes even how strong they were. This was a very hard thing for me to do. This quilt was made when I realized that I had accomplished this in such a way that the Savior was pleased with my effort, nearly ten full years later. |
